This has truly been a sad year when it comes to our beloved animals. Chelsea had to say good bye to two of her horses this year. Her sweet little Annie was suffering from a chronic lameness, and Chelsea had to give her up. Fortunately for Annie though, as she has been donated to a facility, with unlimited resources, to help her get better.
Chloe, her great POA mare, succumbed to colic.Very tragic. Chloe was a wonderful show pony,a great trail horse, and one of Chelsea's best frien...Read Full Post »

Another successful playday! We really do seem to have some fun. The topper was the chili cookoff. Everyone was different, but all were delicious! I am really glad I chose to keep eating the tasters instead of eating large bowls. They were all so good it allowed me to have seconds on each without getting stuffed! It was a surprise when Chuck and Eunice showed up, but glad they made it. We are very fortunate to have a great group of people to spend these days with. I love you all! Hopefully our...Read Full Post »

May 22, marked the reentering to the show ring for Chamberlain Show Horses... Congratulations to Pam Croupe and JR for taking first in in hand trail! It was Pam's first show in over 20 years! She looked like she never stopped showing! Jeffery was a star in the color class, acting like a seasoned veteran, instead of his first time out! Looking forward to the next show, making his debut under saddle!

What a wonderful day we had! We do have such a great group of people! Whenever we get together, it is like a family reunion. Horses, friends and good food make a perfect day! The new cowboy curtain was a huge success, and what a great bunch of horses to be receptive to going through that scary obstacle! Kicking the big ball around was a blast too! Definitely need more practice to get it through thoses goal posts! The trail ride proved to be a bit more challenging than expected...I didn't know...Read Full Post »

Hopefully we are in for some dry weather for a while. The horses are antsy but I was able to put them in outside pens today. The arena is on the verge of being dry enough to work in, thanks to the efforts of karlan and his mighty John Deere. The round pen ground needs to be turned a few times before it will be rideable but I'm seeing daylight at the end of that tunnel. With the ground still being a little wet to work I took full advantage of the day to clean my saddles. They are ready to be ri...Read Full Post »

It's always a chore to try to keep horses worked when we get rain. The horses bounce off of the stall walls, bucking and rearing in place, pleading to be able to see some sunshine again. While the arena and round pen are to slick to ride in, we do like the fact that the rain leaves behind great water obstacles on our road. These are mid cannon deep and the size of a small swimming pool, with decent footing below. So for those looking for a water challenge, this is nature's blessing. The road ...Read Full Post »

Our first Playday and BBQ was a huge success. We had a great turn out and everybody had a good time. It brought new and old friends together for a fun day of riding and eating. We couldn't of asked for a more beautiful day weather wise either. It was an inspiration to provide more challenging obstacles, and of course to prepare horses for the upcoming show season. We are very fortunate to have a great bunch of people that enjoy doing the same things and support each other. Horses are suppose ...Read Full Post »
